On Saturday 30th September, the newly reformed History Group, will be hosting an exhibition of photographs, documents and memorabilia in Minchinhampton Market House. As part of the afternoon’s display, there will be free showings of films of local interest. 3 films will be shown, details below. The showings will be at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.

1. Anzacs over England. (31 mins)This is a documentary about the Australian Flying Corps in Minchinhampton and Leighterton during WW1 using archive film from 1918. (15.00)

2. The Falconer Film Collection. (40 mins) This is a compilation of 16mm silent films shot here and abroad in the 50s and 60s by local architect Peter Falconer, who among many other things designed Box Church and the Minchinhampton Porch  Room. Mary Falconer (Peter’s wife) and her daughter provide the commentary.(16.00)

3. 2020 Hindsight.(56 mins) A documentary shot entirely in Minchinhampton near the end of the Covid crisis, showing how various individuals, businesses and organisations dealt with the situation. (17.00)
