Philip’s Back!
His hugely successful tour is coming to Minchinhampton.
Amongst other delights Philip promises us the tale of a man who makes matchstick models of HMS Dreadnought and a hilarious take-down of chick lit romance – ably abetted by his co-readers Christina Heward-Mills and Jenny Nixon. Expect some more highlights from Stroud’s freegle recycling network (yes, really).… and apparently there may also be a smattering of sex (but only in the stories, you understand).
Philip has read twice at the Cheltenham Literature Festival (quite impressive); too many times to count at Stroud Short Stories and Story Fridays in Bath (quite fun); in the dark on the back of a land rover (quite dangerous); and at a pirates party (quite dressed up). He does know that it is ambiguous to say that he also once closed the Nailsworth Festival.
Here’s what some (non-financially rewarded) people were sufficiently stimulated to say about him last year:
“Really really fun”
“A TRIUMPH… THE AUDIENCE LOVED IT.”
“We all had a fabulous time and we all talked about it on the way home.”
“A huge high… I haven’t laughed so much for ages”
‘It really was a wonderfully warm and welcoming evening.’
